'Light breeze. Vending machine cups may roll.
Light carrier- and dry-cleaning bags rustle'
Bad weather features in both Robert Hugill's The Woodward Scale and Aulis Sallinen's The Beaufort Scale. The Beaufort Wind Scale is used to estimate wind strengths and The Woodward Scale sets Antony Woodward's amusing modern day re-write which first appeared in Country Life in 2002.
Bad marriages are the subject of Luigi Dallapiccola’s settings of poem’s by Michelangelo’s nephew which include a chorus of ill-mated wives and a chorus of unhappy husbands.
In another pairing, Judith Bingham’s The Darkness is no Darkness, a fantasy on S.S. Wesley’s Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace will be paired with S.S. Wesley’s original anthem. Bingham's piece was originally written for the BBC Singers.
